Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association Chief Commissioner Visits GGAM

Participants needed for online leadership course

Young women can now apply to participate in a new e-learning trial that will allow them to take a WAGGGS leadership course over the internet this summer.

Running from 14 June to 22 July this year, the trial will allow them to take initial steps into their leadership journey while helping WAGGGS to explore how it could use e-learning technology in future.

The inaugural Phineas and Ferb Isabella Award

Disney Channel and the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia are announcing the inaugural Phineas and Ferb Isabella Award. This is in recognition of one of the girls who made Phineas and Ferb’s adventures possible - Fireside Girl Troop Leader Isabella Garcia Shapiro! Nominees of this Award must fulfill the selection criteria below, to enable them to receive the Isabella Award during the National Brownies Carnival (Karnival Pandu Puteri Tunas) in October this year.

Apply for a grant for your environmental project

If you have an idea for an environmental project, you could receive up to 1500 USD to help you achieve it, under the FAO/WAGGGS grant scheme.

Together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United nations, WAGGGS invites Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world to apply for a small grant for projects related to our Global Action Theme for 2012, girls worldwide say, "We can save our planet".

Youth scholarships offered by global Women Deliver conference

Youth scholarships are now available to young people interested in attending the 2013 global conference of advocacy organization Women Deliver.

Interested girls have until 15 April 2012 to submit their application via the Women Deliver website, www.womendeliver.org.

They must have an interest in global development issues and be able to communicate in English. More than 5,000 participants are expected to attend the conference, which takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 28-30 May 2013.

Women Deliver advocates action on maternal, sexual and reproductive health. The conference will address how to mobilise action to improve the health and well-being of girls and women everywhere. The scholarships will cover conference registration, airfare, accommodation, and a contribution to visa fees.

MESYUARAT PESURUHJAYA DAERAH PPPM

Mesyuarat ini yang diadakan buat julung kali oleh Persatuan Pandu Puteri Malaysia bertujuan untuk merapatkan silaturrahim antara semua Pesuruhjaya Daerah, menjelaskan peranan yang dipegang oleh ahli Lembaga Eksekutif Kebangsaan serta untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang struktur PPPM di peringkat kebangsaan, cawangan, daerah dan pasukan di sekolah.

GIRLS' SUMMIT 2012

Seramai 39 orang wanita muda yang terdiri daripada ahli-ahli Pandu Puteri Tingkatan Enam dan juga lepasan sekolah dari seluruh negara berasa teruja dengan program Girls' Summit yang diadakan dari 17 - 20 Februari 2012 di Wisma Pandu Puteri. Antara aktiviti yang dilaksanakan ialah sesi penampilan diri dan imej,perbincangan tentang Milenium Development Goals dan Global Action Themes dan, aktiviti kraf kitar semula sempena tema sambutan Hari Peringatan Sedunia 2012: Bersama Menyelamatkan Bumi Kita. Para peserta berjaya menghasilkan bakul daripada surat khabar lama, beg dan brooch butang serta sebuah kusyen berbentuk hati (heart-shaped) daripada kain perca. Mereka juga menghasilkan rak, tempat letak pensil dan peralatan daripada botol-botol plastik.
